Du'a (supplication and invoking aid) is worship ('ibadah). Allah Most High says in the Qur'an, "And your Lord says, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you'. After the Sunnah salam ; it should be noted that you are permitted to take baya’ (pledge). Whoever intends to give pledge, you should with a fully content heart take baya’ and provide further instructions.
